It is about Arkadiusz Wudarski, 52 years old, who was part of an expedition that was very close to the summit, approximately at 6600m, in the area of the «canaleta», according to what was revealed in the last hours.
At a certain moment, the group’s guide could see the climber faint, and immediately, he began with the maneuvers for his recovery.
He established contact with the medical service – according to reports – while the displacement of the rescue patrol was activated. The guide, in the first instance, administered dexamethasone and oxygen, with the supervision of the medical service resident in Horcones.
As his pulse was still very weak, and there was no reaction, he was authorized to administer adrenaline, with negative results. Since he did not respond to the maneuvers, and after verifying that he no longer had a pulse, the guide began resuscitation maneuvers, which he practiced for 30 minutes, until the rescue patrol arrived and confirmed his death.
This is the second victim of the season on Mount Aconcagua. We remember that on November 28, the first death occurred. On that occasion, Jorge Luis Gallardo, 35 years old, who had been rescued a few days earlier with clear symptoms of M.A.M., died in the Central Hospital of the city of Mendoza.
